The back right sand bunker on 3 green was changed to a grassy hollow bunker on Tuesday afternoon. Mark Mitchell, Burl's Golf Course Architect, made a stop to the course last fall. He suggested the idea to make the change because it is such a short par 3 with limited play out of the bunker and a difficult bunker to maintain. So it was decided to replace the trap with grass. Cesar, Chuck and Dave had the bunker shaped, sod laid and watered in a couple hours. I personally think it give the hole a "classic" look.
